More than 400 pets were given a second chance at life at life, thanks to an extraordinary effort by hundreds of animal advocates who flew tens of thousands of miles with the pets to find them forever homes.
On October 1, 2015, American Humane’s Emergency Rescue team and a 50-foot-long Lois Pope Rescue Truck joined forces with hundreds of Pilots N Paws pilots in every state in the union to help transport pets that faced an uncertain fate to safe shelters, fosters and rescue groups. The massive transport was the second effort of a campaign to save more of the 3-4 million animals have been relinquished to shelters and euthanized each year.
