PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, May 4, 2020 — The COVID-19 crisis has been difficult for all of us. But it’s been especially tough on the abandoned and homeless animals in shelters waiting for a forever home. To help, American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization and the only one with a major center in Palm Beach, launched the “Feed the Hungry” campaign to get lifesaving food, medicine and supplies to our best friends in their worst time.
That effort has gotten a giant boost, thanks to the generosity of the Hubbard Radio West Palm Beach, which created the “Fight Back, Give Back” program to help local charities raise awareness and funds by donating air time to promote their efforts during the pandemic. American Humane has already delivered funding for several thousand meals to two shelters in the Palm Beach area and one wildlife sanctuary. Fifty 30-second radio spots urging the animal-loving public to support this critically important campaign will air on all seven Hubbard West Palm stations through Sunday, May 31, including WRMF, WIRK (New Country 103.1), WEAT (Sunny 107.9), WMBX (X102.3), Party 96.3, 850 WFTL, and WMEN (Fox Sports 640).
“As foot traffic and resources dwindle at the shelters that are doing so much animals for during this pandemic, we need to make sure they can continue to help the beautiful creatures in their care,” says Dr. Robin Ganzert, Palm Beach resident and president and CEO of American Humane. “This gift of free airtime will allow us to reach some of the most generous, compassionate, animal-loving philanthropists in the nation with an urgent plea for help, and thanks to our friends at Hubbard Radio West Palm Beach, we know that plea will be heard.
