American Humane Among Top Animal Charities in the Running to Become the 2018 Grand Champion Animal Welfare Organization

Public asked to vote to support country’s first national humane group

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, August 31, 2018American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization, now saving, sheltering, feeding, and overseeing the welfare of one billion animals each year, as well as rescuing abandoned shelter animals and training them as lifesaving service dogs for the nation’s brave veterans, is among the top animal charities and welfare groups in the running for Pet Philanthropy Circle’s first-ever People’s Choice Award to become the 2018 Grand Champion Animal Welfare Organization. The award will be made at the Pet Hero Awards, which celebrate individuals, associations, professionals, pets and business organizations that demonstrate a commitment to improving and protecting animal lives.

“The Pet Hero Awards are to Animal Welfare as the Oscars are to the movies, so opening voting to the public is an exciting way to bring awareness to the causes that protect animals,” says Jewel Morris, CEO and founder, Pet Philanthropy Circle.

This new award invites everyone to participate by voting to select the winner of the 2018 Grand Champion Animal Welfare Organization. This campaign will reach people worldwide inviting votes and donations via the www.PetCircle.org/peopleschoice website and https://www.facebook.com/groups/petheroawardspeopleschoice/ Facebook page until the winner will be announced on October 19 at the Pet Hero Awards 6th Anniversary Ceremony, at 1356 Broadway, Gotham Hall in New York, NY.

Voters have the option of voting free or increasing their support with donations.
