Pound Seizure Progress in Michigan

After more than 30 years, the Montcalm County Animal Shelter will no longer allow pound seizure -- the outdated practice of providing shelter cats and dogs to USDA Class B Dealers for resale to research facilities.

After a devastating fire killed more than 100 animals at a shelter in Killeen, Texas, American Humane provided a special Red Star Emergency Grant to help care for the surviving animals.
