American Humane Presents Grand Strand Humane Society with Feed the Hungry Grant

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, April 27, 2020American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization, today announced that Grand Strand Humane Society received a grant from American Humane’s Feed the Hungry fund. Located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Grand Strand Humane Society exists to improve the quality of life for companion animals by providing shelter and care to the lost, homeless, helpless and unwanted animals of Myrtle Beach community.

“We are sending a huge thank you to American Humane today,” said Jess Wnuk, Executive Director of Grand Strand Humane Society. “This amazing organization has helped places like Grand Strand Humane Society over the years, especially during times of crisis, and they are doing it yet again through their Feed the Hungry grant program. This program is allowing Grand Strand Humane Society to grow our food banks so that we can better help keep pets in loving homes across the Grand Strand. We are so grateful for their assistance, and love that we are able to keep pets with the families that love them so much. Thank you American Humane for your continued support, especially during this very difficult time.”

Grand Strand Humane Society is an open admission shelter that takes in animals brought in by the City of Myrtle Beach Animal Control officers and from citizens within the Myrtle Beach city limits. The shelter is part of the No-Kill South Carolina community. Grand Strand Humane Society was selected as a recipient of the grant due to its dedication in finding every healthy, adoptable animal a forever family. Additionally, the shelter provides low-cost veterinary care to the public, and through community involvement and education, furthers the bond between people and animals.
