WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, July 1, 2020 — American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization, today announced that Fearless Kitty Rescue received a grant from American Humane’s Feed the Hungry fund. Located in Fountain Hills, Arizona, Fearless Kitty Rescue is a no-kill rescue committed to finding homes for homeless and abandoned cats of all ages.
“Since COVID-19, we have moved our operations to pretty much 100 percent foster-based,” said Monique Moody, Licensed Veterinary Technician at Fearless Kitty Rescue. “To get all of our cats into foster, we had to buy quite a few supplies. We have purchased play pens, extra litter boxes, food, some supplements, litter – all of the things our foster homes need to support us with both kittens and adults. Some of our adults in the building got to go a little stay-cation. And of course, it’s kitten season, so we’ve had lots or nursing moms and kittens.”
Fearless Kitty Rescue was founded on the belief that every cat and kitten should have a chance at a happy, healthy and fearless life. When the cats are not in loving foster homes, they are kept at Kittyville, a free-roaming adoption center in Fountain Hills, Arizona. The rescue serves the immediate community of Fountain Hills, and surrounding areas. The team is dedicated to rescuing cats left homeless for whatever reason – cats in municipal shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to animal overpopulation, abandoned and homeless strays, cats surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. Fearless Kitty Rescue places cats in loving, responsible, committed, permanent homes, and also serves as a resource by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spaying/neutering, positive behavior training and good nutrition. The Feed the Hungry fund will help the shelter pay for necessary supplies.
