Mission Metamorphosis Two Weeks Away

Ten years ago, Robin Ganzert, Ph.D., took the helm at American Humane. She did so at a precarious time – the historic non-profit was battling its own internal issues while the entire non-profit landscape was shifting as the impacts of the Great Recession were being fully realized.

A decade later, it is clear that American Humane weathered the storm. During the past 10 years, we celebrated 140 years of continuous operation, expanded the number of animals helped by 2,000 percent and all while staying laser-focused on the mission. Mission Metamorphosis, the forthcoming book from Dr. Ganzert, tells the story of the last decade and offers lessons for success to leaders of all organizations, both large and small.

When Dr. Ganzert began drafting the book, no one realized how timely it would be. As hundreds of millions are grappling with the political and economic ramifications of the novel coronavirus, both non-profit organizations and for-profit companies are struggling to prepare for an uncertain future. The lessons contained in Mission Metamorphosis provide a roadmap and inspiration for these unprecedented times.

If you’re interested in the history of the humane movement or America’s first national humane organization, then this book is a must-read. Dr. Ganzert gives readers an insider’s perspective on how animal-centric organizations can most effectively improve the lives of animals around the world.

Mission Metamorphosis, published by Fast Company Press, is already available for preorder through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Google Books. Orders will ship on October 20th and begin to appear on your local bookstore shelves.
