American Humane on Thrasher Road

He rides in the backseat, barking occasionally at passing motorcycles, but Thrasher is the heart and soul of this film about second chances. Second chances aren’t easy to come by.  They’re also not easy to endure. This is definitely the case in writer/director Samantha Davidson Green’s feature film, THRASHER ROAD. When Chloe (Allison Fay Brown) and her elderly dog, Thrasher, find themselves stranded on the way home after life falls apart in Los Angeles, she finds unwelcome help from her estranged father, Mac (Christian Kohn), who tries to reacquaint himself with his daughter and the life he left behind. Thrasher Road is a beautiful journey about family, forgiveness and finding redemption in the unlikeliest of places. The Thrasher Road production was not only proactive in having American Humane on set to protect the dog, who’s in almost every scene, they were incredibly accommodating.  And no one knows about second chances better than dog performer “Roscoe,” whose trainers found him at a shelter the night before he was scheduled to be euthanized.  Roscoe went on to enjoy a thirteen-year career in film and TV. You can now stream THRASHER ROAD now on AmazonYouTube and GooglePlay.

Exciting news. American Humane covered Thrasher Road under our SAG-AFTRA Low Budget Initiative. The SAG-AFTRA Industry Cooperative Fund provides American Humane with a grant which allows us to supervise qualified low budget films free of charge. Amazing news for independent filmmakers everywhere.
